front of Colton Hall to commemorate the Sesquicentennial of the California State
Constitution Convention.
The California State
Constitution Convention went from September 1st 1849 through October 13th 1849.
October 13th 1849 is the date
on which the California State Constitution was signed in Monterey's Colton Hall.
